O/T Morecambe on the edge

Close to going under. If the players aren't paid by Friday they can all walk away from their contracts as free agents.
Dodgy owners strike again.

Sold. Sacked Derek Adams and installed their own man as the new gaffer.
Youngest manager in the National league at 30 and youngest ever holder of UEFA Pro-Licence apparently.
Should have cleared tax debts and immediate creditors hy now so should be paying insurance, wages and stuff inside a week which will.mean transfer embargo lifted.
Only got 5 players currently... but looking ok for staying in their league.

Bit harsh on Derek Adams who had been managing it all through the mess, not getting paid and even paying an employee's rent so they wouldn't be made homeless.
Hopefully he got a fair severance.

Allegedly paid up his full entitlement.
But yes, harsh given he has stuck around.

Don't know much about new owners but wonder if an attempt to harness Asian heritage players at higher level ?Think there are some non league clubs eg Sporting Bengal and Khalsa trying to do this .

Now suspended from the National League.
At least they're not expelled, yet. But that's the only silver lining, and it's a frayed one.

We might have been relegated but I think we'd have still been financially stable with PW at the helm and able to operate as normal (as normal as relegation can be, obviously would be redundancies and budget cuts etc)
Unless you mean if he'd sold to the rumoured Chinese/USA investors interested, then yes, that could have been us.

Tyson Fury should buy them. He lives locally and even trains at the club's gym I seem to recall sometimes.

Snoop Dog. He might be at the game on Saturday. Would be a treat for all the Stevenage fans in attendance.

I was a great fan of his seminal work.. "Let's go Doggin "
Still I suspect the welsh Hills will slow him up a bit.

Bordeaux to Dagenham is certainly a change of scenery.
I liked Caroll. Hope he does well

Probably far too hard to implement but a bit of legislation stating that if you purchase an established sports club and it goes tits up, then you’re liable, wouldn’t go amiss.
That said it’ll be funny to see clubs like Wrexham implode when the actors get bored because they don’t get promoted again this season.

I think they've put in place some revenue streams at Wrexham that mean the club will be just fine if they end their involvement. Could be wrong.

Admire that if so. Think the whole thing is a bit of a circus but if they’ve safeguarded the long term future of the club for the fans then that can only be respected.

I noticed they have involvement with a Mexican club too, maybe it's the beginning of the end at Wrexham?

On this sort of thing Udinese and Watford have found way round this I think .One owned by Father and other by Son , but in effect really the same hence player swaps etc.

Red Bull have several European clubs, some of whom are in the same European competition.
Always a way round the multi-club ownership rules.
Unless you're Crystal Palace or Lyon.

Did the same to Worcester Warriors Rugby club too.
Not really sure how the governing bodies can go about forcing bad owners to relinquish control without any sporting consequences for the club itself. These are private companies after all.

Hate Worcester went bust owing millions to local traders and mainly HMRC.The reformed club have been allowed to start at 2nd tier not bottom next term as long they pay off so called Rugby only creditors of old club.Looks like same will.follow yr after for reformed Wasps and L Irish.
