Indeed. So good in fact that they loaned him to Dorking Wanderers in the pub leagues

He's the Kane Smith replacement I would imagine.

Yep, and Lubala is List's replacement.

Hopefully both replacements, and upgrades.

Assume then you think we should keep Appere and Simpson even if we do get credible offers.I think we should, can always loan out later if needed.

Assume you mean the offer for Simpson is how much we have to pay for someone to take him.

If we get decent offers, no. But otherwise, yes.

Always quite liked Appere when he has played against us, and last season was so injury-affected that it is unfair to judge him on it, but I think back to his showing after coming on at HT at Huddersfield in our first away game last season and he changed the game, but we wasted three golden opportunities and then they hit us on the counter.

I see a player in Simpson, and think back to what he did to us two years ago at Northampton where I have seen very few players give Pidge that level of constant grief, and he is still young, so I am also happy for him to get another go to see if he can show that again. Also doubt he would be a regular starter so we wouldn't be pinning any hopes on him, but his pace and strength could definitely cause issues off the bench.

Also I fully expect our style to be very different this season, so our front line should have far greater success.

I really hope you are right about a change in style this season.

Are you basing this on inside knowledge, our signings or just a punt based on QPR (A).

I'd love to see us play wing backs and a proper.pair of strikers, playing central within the width of the penalty box.

Comments from Revs, and the signings.

He has spoken a lot about wide players, attacking players, and getting crosses in (something we did a lot more against QPR).

Patterson, Campbell, Lubala, even Saxon and Pattenden can offer width.

In addition to the above, my understanding is that the standout signing we are aiming for is a striker, so if that comes off then one of our strikers may be off, but so far we haven't brought any in and have already got shot of Pressley, and lost Hanlan from last season's options.

As I see it, and I like what we have done on paper:

Houghton = Eli King replacement/upgrade.
Campbell = Kyle Edwards replacement/upgrade.
Lubala = Elliott List replacement/upgrade.
Pattenden = Kane Smith replacement/upgrade.
Saxon = desperately needed cover for Butler so we aren't relying on Freestone playing out of position as cover.
Patterson = a very young and talented player, who adds threat, creativity and versatility. Not a direct replacement but a definite addition to our options.

So we probably only need a GK and a striker now to be done and to give us two options in every position. I will keep a close eye out at Stortford today to see whether we have the same GK as we did second half at QPR, because that could very well be that position covered too.

The keeper at QPR was Alfie Whiteman wasn’t it?

Was at Spurs for a long time, almost expect that if he comes here he’d want to be first choice. Our bench isn’t as comfortable as theirs, probably would be expensive as back up options go as well.

I am expecting Taye to be fucked around with again and to not be our starting GK, and to then leave in Jan/end of the season.

I don't get it, especially as he signed a contract extension recently, but it is what I see happening again.

This is my concern too. Appreciate we need another keeper in the squad but Taye is more than good enough, his record in our goal shows it. If we’ve got another keeper coming in then they need to be streets ahead of Taye to make it worthwhile, or someone who will be second string.

We should definitely make TAH no one and just bring in a journeyman type as no two who is content to bench sit. Remember there is also the emergency loan option if we get injuries.

Chuds, I'd aruge Campbell isn't an upgrade on Edwards, other than fitness wise. Edwards (if he could stay fit) is a Championship player. But agree with the rest.

Yeah, on that one I more meant an upgrade on the fact he should actually be available for us all the time rather than purely on talent, as Edwards would never have even been with us if not for injuries.

The others I think are genuine upgrades in terms of the whole offering though.

Goal is for him to be a better back-up RB than Kane. Kane's a super player when fully fit... and therein lay the problem

P.s. He's taking hair tips from Pidge haha
