Classic Sun writing bullshit.

It isn't a loophole and isn't new and just discovered, I was posting about this last season.

Was it just the games on the last weekend of the season that this affected though, because some of the games were lunchtime KO and few prem games at 3pm Sat?

Tbf it was news to all of us as of end of last season!

No, people questioned it during every international break throughout last season too, when all 3pm KOs were shown.

It only reared its head last season because of the new TV deal, but this isn't a new discovery for the opening weekend as they would have you believe.

Edit: Oh, you probably mean that was the only weekend when there was Champ and PL matches on, yet the 3pm L1 and L2 were shown anyway? In that case I don't remember what other matches were on that weekend as I was in Bolton watching our match.

Yeah.

L1 and L2 being on TV Saturday 3pm in international breaks has happened for a while and known about. It's this part of the rule that games can also be shown when championship and prem games are actually being played still but if it's less that 50% of all games blah de blah. I think that was a new one on most people as I don't think it had ever actually happened.

I still think the opening weekend falls under 'no prem or championship games, crack on' rule, but they are picking up specific wording
