Know we have covered this to some extent before.But if we were talking to him I summise we only offered at most a 1 yr contract

Probably, but could be anything.
They may have offered two years instead of one, they may have offered more money, they may have offered him more bonuses, they may have offered more assurances of playing time.
We weren't against keeping him as a squad player, he wanted to see what else was out there, and got a better offer (or simply chose to take the change of scenery). Probably for the best all round. He leaves us after over 200 appearances and with 35 goals, in our top five for EFL apps and goals, but the time was right to move on. Our aspirations are seemingly greater than Northampton's nowadays.

Absolutely. And Dean Campbell gave us one great moment, but very little else.
We are aiming for (and seemingly succeeding with getting) better than both of them nowadays.
Good luck to both, but not disappointed we haven't got either. Will be backing List to score against us at Sixfields though, that'll be a given.

Agreed. The fact that we're competing with Plymouth and Reading on wages is crazy too, so i'm hoping we'll be signing better.
