Football Grounds ranked.

I think our position is fair enough, there or thereabouts, but Grimsby number 1!? Do you agree?

I do like it as an away day as near the coast. I often go to Cleethorpes just at weekends for a day at the beach as only 50 mins away from me.

What's your number 1 ground?

(Edit: I assume it means actual stadium, not the away day in general, so you can't take into account things outside of the stadium itself)

Crawley being ranked worse than Swindon and Oxford is outrageous

Two things I’ve taken from this.
1. Spurs stadium is by far the best. Shouldn’t even be questioned.

2. Accrington better than Stevenage? 😂

Grimsby (or more accurately Cleethorpes) is one of the biggest shitholes I have visited (and I have been to every continent on the planet so not like I have only been there and Stevenage), even worse than our recent trip to Birmingham, with more dogshit per square foot on the pavement than I have ever seen anywhere in my life, horrendous parking, and inconsiderate/selfish people, and the ground has some of the worst facilities I have encountered, so this guy is clearly an utter cretin.

Bournemouth, Scarborough (but they don't count), and Norwich are some of the best awayers we have ever done for the whole trip. Best stadia in the 92, well, it isn't fucking Grimsby.

I don't get Grimsby becoming the hipster's choice. I do really like the bar in the away end that they've put some effort into making feel like an actual bar and left some knick-knacks from visiting clubs. Otherwise it's a mini Valley Parade with a bleak view that happens to be coastline. And I say this as someone who really tries to give the promenade at Cleethorpes a fair crack.

They're right about Colchester and Northampton being fuck awful and Oakwell and Bramall Lane being top tier. Shrewsbury seems worse because it's become one of my favourite away days up to the point where I have to get on a coach to get to the ground when I'm already in the town.

Birmingham away was horrific.

The only positive was the very friendly car park steward.

There's one that as an away day is bottom but as a ground is not bad. Could generate a good atmosphere, decent set up outside pre match, facilities pretty good, nice view of the pitch, decent looking stadium.

But as an away day, absolute shit hole, no where to go pre match, fear of car getting nicked, busy city/congestion charge, will likely never go back.

Favourite: Pompey. Outright best: Villa.

Lamex genuinely underrated on that list - by quite some way.

Can only assume the writer is a Forest fan lol!

Access, parking, a rare big terrace, both ends offer good seating and views, two decent size bars one at each end. Walkable from the train station, just.

Ours is pretty much exactly what a lower league ground should be.

Except the food. And the la k of a pub within 200 metres.

My favourite ground other than ours is difficult to guage as so muchnof one'sopinionis affected by the journey and the day, but Fratton Park when it's busy takes aome beating.

Shame the stewards are rocks.

Agree with all of this about our ground. Really it's only the distance from pubs that lets it down.

Btw although it pains me to say it, Watford is decent. Rank fans, but characterful and visually interesting ground that tells a story.

The Mutual is less than half a mile and if only the Roebuck still open and a decent pub and you can forget about the carvery across the road .
EDIT last I went in to Roebuck, about 5 yrs back, was dreadful seems a care home with a bar added on.Used to be great old in with decent Beer.

Haven't been to vicarage road since about 2000.

Used to go a lot as a neutral. When they were good, it was rocking. Saw Newcastle win there, sat in the away end. Brilliant.

Mostly they were awful, 2/3 empty and it was only the away fans that made any noise.
