Fantastic evening. Great to see another personal hero at the Lamex, with plenty of singing to boot. Ashcroft's the real deal; what a catalogue to choose from. Just strange not to be on the terrace LOL.
Well done SMR.

Good feedback on FaceBook apparently. Especially for Ashcroft's performance.
And some moans about the lack of advertising.
As I'm not on FB, Insta or Twitter I haven't seen a single advert.
(Plenty of club emails about it but that only hits a % of the target audience)
I assume the event was pushed hard on social media channels?

My timeline has been relentlessly pushing the event.
Ashcroft was always going to be the only one that’ll be busy.

There's been advert boards for it all over the town centre, railway station, Hatfield, Finsbury park etc for months

Drove past a banner on a roundabout earlier.
I think some people expect them to knock on their door and let them know everything that’s going on. 🤣

Tickets on sale for today from £53 , not sure if that is discounted plus weather today might put off walk ins.. First yr so hope continues .Perhaps next year would be better to have a 2 dayer but with stronger line up, say a pop day for youngsters and rock, indie, goth day for old codgers like me, might sell better.

Skindred we're excellent last couple of times I saw them, a really fun show, albeit probably 15-20 years ago I think.
Ashcroft is I think the support act for all the UK Oasis gigs so he can't be too bad as a live act.
I've never heard of Ella.
Hope it makes the club lots of money and it becomes an annual thing that puts Stevenage on the music scene map again, (is Bowes Lyon House still a gig venue?)

I approached Bowes Lyon about hiring for gigs about three/four years ago and they weren’t interested in doing shows in there. Maybe they’d be interested now but I’m not 🤣
Skindred are great for about ten minutes then just gets a bit boring.
The tickets are too expensive for the lineups I think.
Pretty much anyone who would go to see Richard Ashcroft would have shelled out hundreds for the Oasis shows anyway. Are they going to pay another £60+ this year to see him 🤷🏻♂️
But yeah, hopefully it does well enough to get better lineups next year. These aren’t lineups that’ll shift 9500 tickets.

Doesn't look busy from what I've seen online, which is a shame.
It's also the night before Slam Dunk festival in Hatfield, which would have same crossover with Skindred / BobVylan. I guess you could make a weekend of it, but if you're travelling from London it's a bit of a faff going up to Stevenage the night before.

I bought an Oasis ticket for £100 yesterday and get to see Richard Ashcroft and Cast for that, which seems better value than £60+ for this, but each to their own!
As per other posts, all the adverts all over Hertfordshire and online promo seems like they are pushing ticket sales hard still

Got an email from them saying they had just released production tickets and giving me a code to access.
£100 is the face value of upper tier (well, £90 + all the ticketmaster add ons). There were £74 ones with a side on view of the stage.
None of this dynamic pricing bollocks

So assume you tried to originally book and got nowhere or Ticketmaster are sending out random invites Whatever seems ticks now available at much lesser price , which will.go down well.. Are you going to leak it to the press .
EDIT I gabe up on day one of being in a queue for 4 hrs then getting time out.

My bro got contacted the same way when the September dates first went on sale, they were all sold invite only, he paid the same as me back in February or whenever it was they were sold

Break even is usually 50% no?
So if they average 4500 and have sold a few VIP packages they should be OK.
I did some Safety Advisory Group planning for Ministry of Sound at Knebworth way back, pretty sure they lost a fucking packet on that weekend, less than 25% sold IIRC because MoS tried to do it all in house rather than hire a proper festival planner/promoter.
I also did a few bits for the Oasis and Robbie Williams shows, professionally planned by big names in the festival industry. Much tougher negotiators but they knew way better than us on the SAG how to put on a big profitable safe event.
There are plenty of people who think they know how to put on such events and find out the hard way...

Depends on payment deals with artists.
Id be surprised if they didn’t make a profit if they hit 3000 sales each show.

Today and Sun decent line ups.Wonder how much of an annual money spinner this could be .Seems it is possibly a partnership between us and the promoters as sure we are at least running the bars.

Going by the number of adverts and sponsored posts I’ve seen it’s either not sold that well(seating certainly hasn’t), or they’re pushing to sell them all out.
Not sure the lineups are strong enough to sell 9500 tickets anyways but good luck to them. At least it seems a bit more organised than the previous shambles.
