Yes he did sat on the back row behind the home dugout. I was 4 rows in front of him and often spoke to him. RIP SIR GEORGE

Yes, although his health wasn't the best towards the end. I sat behind him before I moved away from the area. An absolutely lovely, gentle and kind man. The club have lost a good one there. RIP George.

I met him once - at a Letchworth match in 1980 and was struck by his energy and passion for Boro. He was unashamedly ambitious for the club and obviously cared deeply about it. He was charming and engaging. Rest in peace
