It's annoying you can hear the Wycombe fans on the microphone. They're up there with the most whiney deluded fans and no one wants to be hearing that all game.

Frustrating them nicely first half, took Butler a few minutes to get the measure of his winger and Luther(?) lost Kone for the free header but otherwise comfortable for us without creating anything of note.

A very strong line up. Nice to see Taye back between the sticks. Pity about Cooper who has an "illness"...interesting? Shame Young doesn't get a start....lets hope he gets on at some point.
Pretty confident we can do well with this line up. COYB

Hopefully JFC gets on at some point too. Can't have been an easy 15 months out injured for him.

I assume we would never even put him bench if we are definitely releasing him.Perhaps club just want to see how he gets on to end of season and then decide .

Disagree. We have made Thier keeper make 1 save and have not looked interested to score a goal apart from that.

They're a good side, Kone is joint top scorer in the league. Very mean defence and a well organised outfit playing for an automatic spot.
We have nothing to play for.
One good chance each until 90 minutes. That's a solid away performance. They nicked it and probably just about deserved it.
Big Dan Philips had a great game alongside Louis breaking up play.

Agreeish on this but get feeling he has lots more to offer too that we need to see.The "freedom" issue could have a part to play in this

He's young. He's strong. He has very good feet.
We will hopefully sell him for a decent profit in a season or two.

Loses his man too often, doesn't off much going forwards.

Spot on. Time and time again Phillips doesn't pick up his runner. Was at fault for Crawleys goal last week. Ball watches far too often.

Yep. I was there thinking there was nothing between the sides, that Wycombe were making more poor mistakes than I was expecting, that we were putting in a solidly decent away performance, and wondering how they were third. The injury time sucker punch went their way but we really deserved the draw.

I agree up to a point (or in this case no points, as it turned out). We defended well, as usual, and looked as though we had earned a draw. Awesome performances from Phillips and Goode. But if you show zero attacking intent you are always one mistake/bit of bad luck from coming away with nothing. In this case a needlessly-conceded corner, pinball in the penalty area and a horrible scrambled winner. It was the kind of stunt we might have pulled off ourselves last season.
Doubtless Chuds will find a stat or two to 'prove' how well Revs is doing. But since he was adamant we had nothing to fear from a very tough run in of away games against teams in the promotion hunt we've managed one point from five matches at Birmingham, Stockport, Reading, Wycombe and Orient. Last year we finished with 71 points. On current form we are on track for 58 this time around.
I am convinced we have a significantly stronger squad than last season and I would be perfectly happy if we can keep almost all of them, assuming Simpson and Pressley don't return. But the approach has to change and if this manager can't do that he has to go before all the fans do. This forum has always been a decent barometer of feelings amongst the diehards. Look how few people have bothered to post in the wake of derby match.
I have no particular wish to see Evans return, but you have to admit that last season was SO much more fun than this one.

Yes, agreed almost entirely. I was just making the point of the manner of our losing being quite tough to take. Many would expect us to lose away at Wycombe - I did as I rocked up at the ground - but the performance was in many ways better than expected. Defence and midfield were strong - and how excellent to see JFC back - but as you say, a fairly headless front line. I was keen to get Young on for Appere (what DOES he actually offer??) and was pleased that my telepathy reached Revell, but it didn’t alter the game.

I enjoyed Young's attempted shot that flew about 50 yards wide of the target yesterday. I can see why so many wish he would start games up front.

Yes. I often imagine he’s going to add a bit of spirit and pace - it *feels* right to put him on - but doesn’t always translate into a better performance, granted.

If he started more games he might have had more practice to get it on target. But on the plus side at least he attempted to shoot, most our strikers aren't sure about what that is.

1) I absolutely did not say that.
2) The league is considerably better than last year so we had to strengthen just to stay in touch.
3) Wycombe is not a derby match.
4) Evans did worse than Revs this season with a MUCH better squad at his disposal (and look how Rovrum have been doing since he got canned), and it really wasn't much better for the most part of last season, despite us being a bit further up the table. People remember what they want to I guess.
5) If Revs doesn't improve the scoring next season and we slip down the table then he will rightly be replaced.

1. You absolutely implied it with a stat re how many points we had picked up away from home
2. Birmingham are (and we have only played them once) otherwise I disagree. Portsmouth and Derby at least as good as Wrexham and Wycombe.
3. Yes it is.
4. I wouldn't swop Rotherham's squad for ours, no way. People do remember what they want to...ninth was our lowest position from September onwards last season, I believe.
5. Something we agree on....

Likewise.
As you wanted a Revs stat. If we don't score eight goals in our next five games, it is our lowest ever return in League One (three needed to tie our lowest FL tally). Corking.

Actually agree with this , we know we in general have the players, barring the few obvious departures and positions strengthening needed. So what is it the attitude , the coaching , wrong formations or a mixture of all.
EDIT realise injuries have not helped.

First half of it at least. I'd imagine our PPG second half last season was similar to our current season. (

I respect that but like you said we have nothing to play for. Why can't we just play with a bit of freedom untill the end of the season and go for it a bit more. I appreciate it was nearly a point gained but my god we are boring to watch.

If we went for it they'd have likely ripped us to bits.
Giving our FBs licence to play higher up, pushing another midfielder higher would have played right into their hands.
We needed our back 4 to focus on defending, and we needed Louis and Dan to disrupt, to break their rhythm
Today was very much about being solid, organised and disciplined. I'm not the biggest fan of Revball but he got it right for me today. He made Wycombe look ordinary for 89 minutes. That takes a lot of work from him and the team.
