Rotherham fan here

Don't be too down on your team, judging by the injuries & suspensions you were carrying you kept it competitive for 70 minutes.
Your support was excellent too but "your support is ****ing shit" in a crowd of 8800 was a bit cheeky even if we were generally quiet but we've had little to shout about lately.

A game between two poor sides. Your confidence grew after you scored though.
To be fair I don't think I've ever seen a home crowd of 8500 plus so quiet. I wouldn't even be able to tell you which was your 'noisy section' of the ground. Half your fans starting streaming out at 2-0 up as well. All very strange.

We went to a hungry horse before hand and the barman there said Rotherham don't make any noise so if we didn't sing it would be no atmosphere.
Turns out he was right.

TBF we've had three years of losing & poor performances even the season we survived in the Championship so very little to shout about.
The fanbase in general did & do regard Evans appointment as a retrograde step.
Anyhow any win is a win even though it was an awful game.
I'd be interested in Boro fan's views of our gaff as it'll be a first visit for most.
Best of luck for the rest of the season.

For a new ground I enjoyed it. Inside had a bit of character with the staggered roofline etc. I found the stewards were decent and the Big Yorkie seemed to be a particular hit with our fans.
A bit of aggro from some of your fans on the way out, but you get that in a lot of places.

I remember seeing an old Rotherham supporter getting his cap repaired on the Repair Shop. Was he part of the agg?

I went about 10 years ago the last time we played. Inside a bit like Doncaster. Outside looks bigger and impressive. Obviously a modern bigger ground than our own but the modern ones lack character and all sort of look the same. Probably doesn't help with the atmosphere these all seated bowls. Although acoustics are good when there is noise.

Yeah saw Millmoor. Apparently gets used by local teams which is cool.

I like it, very easy access from the train station, holds noise in and doesn't feel empty like somewhere like Colchester or the MK Bowl. Only complaint was not being able to walk all around the ground if you turn the wrong way on approach.

I think it is indicative of the fact that the majority of Rotherham fans thought Evans' reappointment was a backwards step and simply don't want him there

It's in our nature to overreact, as you can see by the "sack the manager" posts...
Fickle bunch.
