Why would we?
We announced they weren't under contract but were in talks during the initial retained list, so no need to say anything unless they agree a new contract.

The club thanked all the players no longer under contract with us at the time we published the retained list, which includes them as they were no longer our players because they didn't agree an extension whilst still under contract.
They are a free agent like the many other players we would be in discussions with and the club obviously doesn't feel the need to thank them twice.
Edit: FWIW I didn't mind Hemmings and wouldn't have been against keeping him, but feel MacDonald would always be a bit-part player as he was the season just gone. Would imagine the club felt likewise and offered a deal accordingly. If they didn't want to accept it then that is on them and let's see where they end up. I agree with the club that they have no need to say anything as the players had effectively left the club when the original list was released.

Has MacDonald turned down the offer then? I know we assumed Hemmings had from his Instagram posted saying what a great time he had and wishing us all the best but I can't recall if I've heard anything regarding MacDonald?
If not, I imagine he'll be waiting for offers and weighing up his options and unlikely to therefore stay anyway.

Not seen anything either way, but if he had accepted our original offer we would have announced something, so as it stands he has left the club and was thanked in the original article.
Seems he is good to have about the place, and stepped up to assist Revs at the end of the season, but as a player there isn't a single position you would have him starting in, and he is behind a couple of players in many of them, so would be your classic squad player. He is one of those who is almost too versatile that it harms him. A bit like Freeman, although I believe he showed more than enough to be a regular for us again and was unfortunate he spent so many games covering at FB as I think he was very good in midfield when actually playing there.
