He'll be able to tell you a story about one from when he was younger. Probably the free kick specialist for Biggleswade under 14s. Until his team mate lost his foot in a giraffe attack.

He certainly was a really good player. Even dispite his disability, his balance and movement on and off the ball was equal to any other player on the pitch.

Those with disabilities like his often amaze us.

I used to swim at Stevenage with a young man with no arms back in the mid 80s

He'd beat me over 1, 2 or 6 lengths every single time, and I was fit and swimming 20 lengths a day back then. Not splashing like a cat that's just fallen in like I do now.

And he'd use all 3 diving boards.

And dry and dress himself quicker than I did at the end.

Inspirational.

Possibly Ronnie West ? Google him and Stevenage lots there .Was Well known and when I was a kid he lived in Ashdown Rd , near me in Holly Leys.
