2024/25 kits

Anyone got any idea on this season designs of home and away kit and will we have another 3rd kit?
I'd like to see last season 3rd kit as this season away kit.

Cambridge have based their away kit on the pattern of weatherspoons plates

The worst sausage and mash I ever had was in Wetherspoons in Cambridge about 10 years ago.
They took it off the Wetherspoons menu for a good few years but recently came back on and pleased to say it is much better now.

After the announcement about the shop being open on Saturdays again from this week, I'm assuming we'll see the new shirt this week?

If we see it this week* it certainly won't be available to buy for another two weeks if previous seasons are anything to go by. I suspect the shop is open for the new training gear range just released.
*First we will see a small section close up and then 4 hours later the full kit.

I am expecting the new kits "reveal" next week.
Who do you think will be modelling them, Pidge again?
Or Pressley, the professional model?

I like the shade of red, although calling it Cardinal reminds of Woking.
Like the hoodie, don't like the side panels on the t shirts/polos. I'd get a cardinal red one if it didn't have those.

The trouble , forme at least, are the sizes . Need to try or see before buying and they never had enough stock of all sizes and styles in shop.

The sizes are mental. As many on here will attest, I have an extremely lithe and agile frame, unusual for a football fan my age. The XL away kit from last season which I bagged for £25 in May is too small!!!

I'm thinking of going to an XL as a Macron large is a bit tight these days. I've got some from the 90s that are large and they're too big for me!
So yeah definitely one size up if not two. Probably one size up if normally S,M or L and two sizes up if bigger than that.
Assuming it's the usual Macron slim fit.

Read and White vertical stripes, what a controversial idea . Blue and White stripes and away We don't need a third kit as why rip off youngsters like the premiership lot
EDIT of course keep the Hospice shirt event as well.

Recent 3rd kits have largely been for charity, the one-off kit for the Villa game being a notable exception due to home/away kit clashes. Even then this was only sold as a limited release after the game due to demand.

Don’t hate stripes but they’re a bit boring.
I really wish we’d stick to one style of kit rather than each year being a lottery over the design and even the colours.
Diagonal stripes have always been a favourite of mine, as much for the fact that it is different and would create our own identity as anything else.
As the club grows it reputation it would be nice for people to see a Stevenage shirt and know it’s a Stevenage shirt, rather than being confused with the plethora of other red and white stripe clubs out there.

Leeds have always played in all White since i think at least early seventies .So then Why can't we just have stripes, yes I know not everyone's taste. The reason clubs change is just money making ,can see why but tradition is going out of the window

You said it yourself, it's all about making money. Within that, it's got to look good on digital media platforms (social media, EA Sports FC).
This is why our badge is circular and has one of Santa's reindeer on it - it fits better as an icon on X.

There’s no reason we can’t have stripes. But there are reasons we shouldn’t. Foremost that so many other clubs play in some variation of red and white stripes in England alone.
There are certain designs and colour schemes that immediately shout the name of the club at a spectator. Our home kit should be aiming for this impact as a bare minimum.

Stoke
Southampton
Sunderland
Sheffield United
Lot of S clubs wear red and white stripes.
Also
Brentford
Exeter
Lincoln
Cheltenham
Happy to stay away from them forever.

Back in my uni days I was up in Newcastle one weekend visiting friends. I thought it'd be fun to wear my (striped) stevenage shirt with a jumper on the saturday afternoon about town as Newcastle were at home and it wasn't long after 98.
That was until we tried going into any pubs, and they took one look at the small section of red and white visible and told us not a fucking chance. Mates weren't best pleased 😂

Assume if you asked their fans they would not want to change as they don't want to be like we used to .Can't see what other teams colours are mean we need to be different .

Re: 2024/25 kits

But our kits are only sometimes red and white stripes. There have been periods of complete red, mostly white with red trim, red and black. We’ve not had one settled style for long enough for any tradition to be in place. Other perhaps than red and white being our predominant colours.
There is an opportunity to create something to symbolise the club and be “traditional” in time. I don’t hate stripes, but they’re ten a penny. Let‘s be different but consistent with the colour scheme and basics of the design.
