Our movement off the ball is awful isn't it?
Edit: as our our attacking set pieces as always.

We don't have the depth in form players but that's honestly not something we can complain about on our resources.
We're pretty much nailed on for a top 10 finish regardless which isn't bad for a team slated for relegation.
We're currently still placed higher than any other team promoted last season (Christ we could have done a Carlisle).
Regardless of what happens in these last 5 games this team has done us bloody proud.
A season to remember ??

Finishing above Orient and Blackpool, if indeed we do, would be a real statement regardless of our final place.

I'm not complaining, as I said previously just a tad concerned for next year. That's a long way off yet though!

Honestly I've been thinking the same thing and I've not got a problem with people voicing concerns, but I've decided we've got 5 games to go. What will happen will happen at this stage.
The day after the season ends we can begin the post-mortem and talk about some of the obvious issues and points of concern.
For now I just want to enjoy the rest of this crazy season.

The club is in the best position it has been in for years. What is there to be concerned about?
This season isn?t over. The play-offs look unlikely now but we?ve not had a bad window under Evans yet. The club is more attractive now than it was last summer also. If we don?t go up then we?ll have a manager and squad who will be eager to put things right and hopefully some strong reinforcements.
League One is a hard league though. We might not be as successful next season regardless. If that happens it won?t be cause for alarm, it?s football.
The thing that would derail us is if we start to overstretch financially and/or if PW and Steve fall out for one reason or another.
There?s far too much panic for no reason these days. We?re in the midst of very good times. Enjoy them, don?t be chicken little.

The will was there but not the quality. Pidge and Butler were good.
We're relying on slip-ups and just need to keep the pressure on hope for the best.

Four 0-0s in the the last seven games.
I think we are saving our powder for the last 5 games.

Taking Reid off early didn't help. Thought we had some momentum going second half but killed it when he came off.
Lack of goals is really worrying. I think Butler, Freeman and others are doing their best getting the ball into the channels, but at the end of the day our main threat is try to cross it in for a header, and that's that.
Realistically, I think playoffs is probably beyond us now. We just don't have the momentum to keep going.

Goals are a real problem.
Makes it even more of a mystery why we loaned in a striker who couldn't get a game at Bradford.

Our loan signings this season have been pretty meh on the whole. NGW looks promising and Burns has been ok. But that?s as far as I?d go.
Hopefully we?ll be a more attractive prospect in the summer for big clubs to consider sending players with real potential here (granted we?ll have competition). The kind who could really kick on but also make a real positive impact for us in the present.

Less the loan signings next season, more the worry over who we may have to potentially replace.

The only two players who are irreplaceable for me are Pidge and Taye. Losing Roberts would hurt too but not to the same extent.

I'd argue that when Roberts plays well, we play well. He's out of his feet now and we can no longer score goals. We rely on him so much and for the vast majority of the season he's been great. He's a bit of a shithouse too which always helps

Yep. Would add in Butler, Luther and TvC too. Our defensive unit that has kept so many clean sheets this (and most of them last) season. Seven in our last ten - only conceded against Pompey, Derby and Peterborough. And Reid if he is more the previous version rather than the last couple of months version.
There are a few midfielders and strikers I like (really rate Louis for instance) but I don't think we would really be too fussed if any of them left. Roberts has actually contributed very little this season considering he has played every league game - he just doesn't look the same player or anywhere near as dangerous or creative.

Midfield is an area where we seems to have loads of options but none are spectacular or stand out. Roberts offers something different but has been disappointing this season, wondering if the step up to L1 is too much for him.
Our defensive unit is solid, keep them.
We're lucky Reid turned into a 20 a season striker as we will never be able to purchase one of those. Although an asset I would still sell him if a good offer came in. The strikers situation the best we can ever do really is buy 4 and hope they get 5 each.

He has outperformed his XG this season. Like XG or not, it?s an interesting metric and suggests that he has over performed.
If someone comes in with a decent offer we should sell. The money would benefit us, and we shouldn?t hold him back from a chance to see how he does at a higher level or bigger club (on a more lucrative contract). It?s also possibly the only chance we?ll get to cash in on him. If this season has been a purple patch then the club and player need to cash in on it this summer.

The money only benefits us if we spend it correctly. Our recent form for signing strikers is not pretty.

We were discussing today how little our midfielders (and defenders) have contributed.
Other than Pidge (4) and Roberts (5), none of them have contributed more than two goals.
So when other than Reid, your strikers also aren't contributing (List on four and Hemmings on three), it leaves us desperate.

I'd be fussed if we lost Reid, Pidge, Taye, TVC or Wildin.
Although I'd cash in on Reid if the money was right.
To a lesser extent Freeman and L Thompson. Not that fussed about anyone else.

Sadly that's what happens when you are competing with clubs four or five times your size.
Still imagine being Charlton and having a side that poor.

Yes, that's a fair point. Undeniable.
But is Vadaine Oliver the only striker we could have got? Happy to give the management team as much grace as the nights are now long, but that was not a good January window. And it caught up with us.
As an aside, baffles me how Nathan Thompson doesn't get a game.

Yeah I think everyone was a bit shocked with the Oliver one! The January signings are certainly the main reason we haven't finished stronger, regardless of the limitations and restrictions we face.

I watched the game on IFollow, could only hear our fans throughout the whole 90 minutes.
That has to be the worst Charlton side in a long, long time. A shadow of their glory days during the 2000s.

Having one up top is really not helping. Reid is so isolated.
Two wholly average sides with no quality or creativity on show first half. No corners, one shot on target, which was straight at the keeper from 20 yards.

Very poor game.
Our subs upped the tempo via an aerial bombardment.
Charlton very poor.
Empty stadium and zero home atmosphere.
And the stadium announcer was trying to rev up interest for 24/25 season tickets!!
No one buying to watch that drivel.
