Are they allowed to start the season proper whilst in administration?

There is no way they can provide the EFL proof of funds sufficient to complete the season.
Which every club has to do before the first ball is kicked no?

Shame, historic old club, screwed by poor regulation, lack of oversight and shockingly bad owners.

I think they'll miss the season and start again as a Newco the year after. Unless there is a new bidder who'll take them for a £1 playing chicken with the administrators and waiting for the debt to be basically largely written off.

Hooray, I am thrilled. (Not really, won't be going to either at £15 a pop. PSFs are for awayers).

Edit: Remember when STH got all home PSFs free by the way? Or even got one free? Not offering any sort of deal is very poor IMO, especially when the club keeps talking about encouraging people back. £15 for a home PSF in the main stand is nuts. Even making it a tenner, two for £20 or 3-for-2 or something would encourage a lot more to attend judging by the comments a lot of Boro' fans I talk to have made. The comments in reply to the Twitter announcement from the Derby and WBA fans are along the same lines.

Haha, nah. But we were due to be playing WBA and Derby in PSFs (hence Sev and I also posting about wanting to go to Stamford when people were discussing who they wanted to play). Although the latter now looks like it may not be happening.

FWIW I am pretty neutral on Rooney, but do think he was often quite underrated as a player, and think that he has seemingly done a decent job in his first stint of management considering what he has had to deal with, and respect how he has stuck with them. Steve Bruce on the other hand is a bellend, and one of those managers I really dislike because it is always the fault of the officials whenever they lose and never ever because of them.
