Culture change

By Sev4/12/2021 19:53Sat Dec 4 19:53:12 2021

I feel like the squad/dressing room needs a whole culture change. The environment needs correcting

From one where you just try not to be the worst to one where you want to be the best.

The Westley squad tjat was so successful was because the majority of the players were pushing each other daily to be better. They wanted to be the best.

What we currently have is bunch of players underperforming and not particularly bothered by it as long as they're not singled out as the worst.

The good news is that's exactly what a new manager can change.

Tisdale needs time to assess the situation and players and work out how best to get them performing.

A few signings of players with the right mentality.

Not a great day, but not a reflection on Tisdale at all.

On your last line, you'd have be to be crackers to apportion any blame to Tisdale after he's only had a few days in charge!

Your wrong........GW got lucky with the players he had at his disposal..........most of which moved moved onto a higher level. The present team are bothered, but they are struggling to perform to the best of their ability. The easy way of dealing with this situation is to blame the players, wake up and smell the coffee.

Hope this is sarcastic because it’s so wide of the mark you might get snapped up to play up front for us otherwise.

What Sev said.

Edit: Without being Wezzled, a lot of the players who went on to better things wouldn’t have. He saw potential, unlocked it, instilled work ethic etc.

Arguably that should be easier to do with some of our current players. Hopefully Tisdale can do it.

Westley didn't sign a bunch of superstars. They were no better than what we have. The difference was their attitude and the coaching. They became a great team, great individuals and created a winning environment.

If the attitude of this squad is as good as they say then under a new manager with experience and new ideas we should see them improve. Fingers crossed.

But to say Westley was lucky is laughable. (Hence my hahahaha reply)

I actually think it's true, not in the ability of that side (excepting Bozzie and probably Laird as he had both technical ability and an engine, whilst others have had one or the other) but their mentality. That article Robbo wrote basically said after Westley left they coached themselves.

Yes Westley brought them into the fold but do we think there is a group with that same hunger available to us now? I think that may have been a moment in time we would struggle to replicate if he came back for a decade.

We played well against League One MK Dons a few weeks ago, this team is more than capable.

Our composure infront of goal today was dreadful and we've paid the price.

We made several really good chances and didn't score. They made one and did. That was the difference.
Lots of over reaction.

Every week we don’t score enough!! Against a non league team we didn’t score enough

If you tolerate this, you probably watch them play, at the ground, in the cold. These fuckers!!
