Four games

I do believe that we as supporters should give DS four games to "bed in" the new players . They showed an improved away performance at AS and should be given limited time to turn things around. It is unfair to crucify DS when they are new players. Give DS four games to start moving up the table.

I think that once we are definitely mathematically clear of relegation then PW will get rid of Sarl.

Out of interest, why four games?

I've been resigned to the fact that we were going to lose at Accrington and will probably lose to Luton, despite the fact we threw away a result at Accy, we still need to give the players time to bed in.

That, goes hand in hand with Sarll getting more time of course. By keeping him through January, PW threw his weight behind him or he wouldn't have bought in players for Sarll.

Of course, things have to change and change fast. But as has been the case all along this season, as long as we're not dragged into a relegation battle or threatening to be then Sarll will be the manager until the end of the season. If things don't improve dramatically however, then I'd be expecting to see a parting of company at the end of the season.

All that said, it depends who is out there going forward if we are thinking of giving Darren his marching orders. If a manager who fits the club's MO is available, then we should be looking to draft him in so he can evaluate the squad and work out who stays and who goes at the back end of this season so he can formulate a plan for pre-season.

I don't disagree with what most say on here, but it is unrealistic to suggest changing the manager when he has just been allowed to bring in a few new players to try to improve the team. Four games will be enough to see if a change is needed. The next game against Luton will show if he has improved the side enough and has the support of the players, knowing how much the fans look forward to this fixture.

Yeah, can’t wait. I put getting beaten at home by Luton up there with watching the As Time Goes By boxset whilst drinking Carling Black Label.

I agree in the sense that I believe the result Saturday was down to two individual errors from Vancooten and Fraser and not really down to Darren, but football is a results business. To have only picked up 4 points out of 33 away from home is a sack worthy stat.

I do happen to think the new players will change the dynamic of the side as we saw in the first half on Saturday, but we can't keep giving Darren more matches if we're not picking up points regularly, we'll only decline in the table and a lot of support will stop coming to Boro which would be a shame. I hope I'm wrong, I hope Darren can turn the ship around, but at the moment, a huge effort is needed.

It's Darren's job to stop people making individual errors every fucking week. He can't prevent them completely - certainly not at this level - but they're costing us week after week after week.

And a lot of support has already stopped coming.

Had he taken Fraser to one side at Bragbury and said, right Frase, I am going to coach you not to pass the ball to the opposition inside the final third, then Fraser quite rightly might have said 'bollocks'

You expect a player like Fraser not to make such a terrible decision. Thats why he gets paid £x per month. TvC you can understand and McKee. But not the experienced lads. But Steve alluded to that in the week.......

My current favourite sayings that I see:

What do we do in training every week?

And

He's a good coach but not a manager.

The two seem to contradict each other. Although I've never really known the difference between a coach and a bus.

And I think the support will continue to decrease.

Added to this, the atmosphere in the ground is horrible. Even the Barmy Army are a lot quieter lately. It’s noticeable that there is no “Sarlly give us a wave” over the last few games.

Most fans have the intelligence to at least give DS a limited time to "bed in" new players that have just been signed in the transfer widow. Good job PW is not as trigger happy as some fans appear to be.

I'm afraid its the Wallet that carries ultimate responsibility for the position the team/club is in.

He's too busy building monuments to himself (with other peoples money) to bother on such trivial things as enabling the development of a competitive on field team (Players and Management) .

Time to go Phil.

Careful what you wish for, a new owner is as likely to asset strip as much as improve.

And given we don't own the ground (and Phil would likely sell Bragbury for housing if he could get planning consent), I'm not sure there'd be many takers for buying the name, the league position and a bag of manky footballs and some cones anyway.

Leaving folding or calling in his debts/loans and resigning his position as his walk-away options.

Asset strip, what assets apart from the battered footballs and cones ?

Phils private ownership of the training facility at Bragbury End has always troubled me but we are where we are and Phil hold a strong hand.

He told me once that if the fans turned against him he would not stick around. Well I'm against you now Phil, but that's probably not enough.

that thought had crossed my mind........ but if he suddenly wants out he will take several of the board with him. I suspect that that might make the general commercial strategy a bit unclear. A new owner might have different visions. :)
That is if anyone were to want to buy him out. in many cases lower league clubs are bought with an eye to the future re ground value. we do not own our ground.

Frankly he can take all of them. They hold no power, it's Phil that decides everything that goes on at the Club.

As an investment very few if any Football Clubs represent value for money. A few years back Phil valued the club at several million pounds...a joke.

We need to find a wealthy benefactor that has a genuine love of and affinity for the club...where shall we start looking?
