To be honest, the first goal was unstoppable and the last one took a big deflection. The second could've been saved, but I don't think he thought their player was going to turn and shoot on Terrance from a tight angle. I think Tom has been solid since he's played, a real communicator back there.

If you're a player don't read the fans forum, it's quite simple. If you play badly you'll be criticised here and from the terraces but by and large our fan base is usually pretty patient. Let's not pretend we've been doing amazingly well, had a rough patch and everyone's in mass hysteria, we've been shit for quite a while now.

Constructive criticism is fine. For example "Godden is offside far too much and needs too work on that". What we get alot of the time is " our goalkeeper is shit because he made one mistake lets replace him ". Which is stupid and reactionary. I doubt the players read this forum. I certainly hope not but if they do they would respect reasoned argument over sweeping generalisations.

Sev and Chuds most of the time produce constructive criticism and well reasoned arguments. There are some on here who don't.

We really don't get it a lot, poke your head into the forums of most other clubs and you'll see far more ott content than here. People get pissed off from time to time however, reactionary comments will happen, as will good debate. I enjoy exchanging views with anyone whether I agree or not with them and vice versa. Ultimately we all want one thing and that is for our club to do well. But, nobody should be pussyfooting (I'm not saying that you're suggesting that) around saying what they want because the players may not respect it, we pay their wages (sorry for the cliche, it is true though).

Undoubtedly. We have to suffer extended spells of terrible results and/or football for the majority of our fanbase to truly want change.

I'd extend the same sentiment to our board as well, who (particularly compared to other clubs) tend to give our managers far more time than most. Very rarely do we dispose of a manager during the season, we more often than not decide it isn't going to work in the long run and release them during the summer.

I can only think of Turner, Smith and Sheringham who were sacked mid-season during recent times. That's three managers in the past 15 years, and whilst you *could* perhaps argue that at least some of them could have been afforded a few more games, you really cannot blame the board for making the decision they did at the time they did for any of them, all things considered.

Edit: Gillingham and Barnet, for instance, are onto their third or fourth managers over the past year alone! As many as we've sacked in a decade and a half.

I wouldn't attribute it to our current situation. We've always had a patient fanbase as far as I can recall. It's one of the things that set us apart from every other club imo.

Taking into account those who will always catastrophise and see nothing but bad, when the majority of opinions on here are in agreement that things aren't as they should be it's generally on the money and something significant has or hasn't happened for it to be the case.

King deserves a chance to learn from his mistakes yesterday as its only what his 5th appearance. Fryer was given plenty of chances to improve from his deluded mistakes and now look at him.a well deserved bench warmer.

Whilst Chris is obviously good. You didn't see the saves King made yesterday. More than happy with him in goal.

What in particular makes you think otherwise? Just the second goal? I've seen ones like that go past Day before. When a player turns and shoots from tjat close it's almost impossible to save unless its right at the keeper.

My only concern with King is his kicking (moreso the fact that he looks like falling over every time he kicks the ball).

In fact despite the rubbish performances we've seen lately I'd say he's the best pretender to Day's throne we've had. But, I'd still rather have Day in goal personally.

The only problem with King’s distribution is that he keeps the ball on the pitch. But fear not. A bit more coaching from Dazza and Daisy and we’ll soon have him launching it into the stands before it reaches the halfway line.

I'm not talking about the distribution. I'm talking about the fact he falls over most games at least once after kicking the ball and looks like turning his ankle more often than not when he takes a kick.

It is more likely to happen at some point. And if it does then we may concede because our keeper is down injured and/or then we'll be needing to sub him.

We had serious success with Des Gallagher in goal, who I was very fond of ... but his kicking was dreadful.

I believe he was once banned / sent off for streaking at a game. I believe alcohol was involved, and this was before sub keepers so maybe he wasn’t in the squad. Older viewers may be able to recall?

PW made some interesting comments about Day:

We had to be realistic and admit that Daisy in his 40’s was unfortunately not a viable option in League Two

Didn't see many people comment on that but thought it was odd at the time. Why not viable if fit?

Anyway, I've got more confidence in King that any other keeper bar Day we've had. So far. Things can soon change though!

I think those comments got lost in the rest of the transfer talk tbf. If we're trusting young players on the basis of if you're good enough then you're old enough then there's no reason Day shouldn't be playing because of his age.

Poor defending, you can’t let a guy receive a ball there and be able to turn and get a shot in. Enough bodies also to block the shot, can’t blame the keeper.

We all know that Chris has been/is wonderful, but he is struggling with his eyesight, particularly under lights. I know this to be a fact.
None of us can resist the passage of time indefinitely, and we do need a viable alternative.
That said, I would have happily have had CD in goal with his eyes shut rather than Fryer. But hopefully we now have competence at least between the posts.
