10 facts following tonight (and indeed most other recent games)

1. Missing fans - I wonder why Darren?

2. Stupid pre match publicity - overly focusing on the last 9 games boasting of being unbeaten at home instead of preparing for this game and recognising that we might have to try a bit harder to win this time than in the FA Cup.

3. Missing leadership on the pitch - we haven't had an inspirational captain since Robbo left

4. Clueless management as to how to change tactics and win a game - let's carry on lumping long balls to short forwards shall we.

5. No movement especially from set pieces especially throws - so predictable and easy to defend as no-one makes a bit of space to actually receive the ball

6. A belief that passing the ball around the back 4 and to/from midfield i.e. keeping possession is going to win games. Tonight so many times players were going deep from positions on the touchline and then just passing the ball back.

7. Overpassing - taking 10 indirect passes where 3 direct might cause rather more problems to the oppositon defence

8. Not one player willing to attack the opposition defence by running at them and drawing fouls if necessary - tonight I can only recall Kennedy once getting to the byline and crossing - bring back wingers like Yemi and Wayne!

9. Another game with only one shot on target - we aren't creating anything of note game after game. As someone has said DS is a fortunate manager as he clearly is not inspiring and motiviating them at the moment. We have failed to score in 7 of the last 14 league matches.

10 Sadly a lack of passion by many players in wearing that Boro Shirt. Every game this year I hope for something better but all the manager and team seem able to do is deliver an even worse performance week after week.

I hated many of the games under Smith and Sheringham but I think this season under Sarll now ranks an even worse experience as it's so frustrating because it's such awful football. Where is the pressing and high tempo games we were promised by the manager. The solution - PW to pick someone quickly whose name doesn't begin with a "S"!

Agree to all of this. no passion from the players.

We were an absolute pile of toss last night!

The players looked knackered. no one looked like they wanted to be on the pitch. (maybe bar kenners)

Im sure sarll insists our midfield keep a 40 yard gap between them and the front two at all times!

And why, oh why do we insist on lumping the fucking ball up in the air 9 times out of 10 to our strikers against two big centre halves!!!

Oh and the referee was shocking!

Have a look at win %* and league position when they took over compared to where in the table they spent most time.

For me

Teddy
Gary
Darren

Altho' some of Graham's tenure(s) was also baffling and awful in long stretches.

And none of those were being 'told' to develop the value of the youth element, a cobstraint which undoubtedly makes it harder.

So its important we don't overreact.

* Chuds will have win% in his head, altho' again we may be comparing Conf & L1 with L2.

There's no debate to be had, it's Sheringham and it'll take something monumental to top him.

I'm honestly starting to think that's debatable.

TS had a worse squad.

TS took a squad that had reached the play offs and turned it in to relegation fodder. From that point DS has signed some decent players, just a shame he can't get a tune out of them and won't try anything different to do so.

Sheringham did also elect to not play Parrett who was the best CM in the squad and play Hughes and McCombe together

Yep, most of our fans think the players we have are pretty good and that wasn't the case under TS as the majority were shit.

He's bordering on GS levels and if it continues he'll soon be challenging TS for the title.

In terms of clueless when it comes to in-game management, DS is on par with TS.

We’re you Eaves dropping on mine and Chuds conversation?! I think we covered 9/10 of those points during the game. Agree on all of that.

I posted very similar, but not as detailed or eloquently.

If we can all see the same thing perhaps we're not as clueless as we think.

Or maybe it's fucking obvious!

Surely the club should be very concerned about the feelings of the fan base.

The attendance was very poor last night, and the atmosphere throughout the game and afterwards was horrid.
