Absolute dross. Amos is the only player to come out of it with any credit for me.

The negatives are going to be gone over here ad nauseam so I'll just elaborate on the positive I saw, which was Amos.

He looks a very tidy player. Always open to receive and move the ball on. Simple stuff but not something we see too much of. He's very calm in possession too. I look forward to seeing him playing once he's been with the squad for a few games.

He and Conlon linked up nicely for a while, which is not at all surprising as they're the only two players who look to find space and want the ball at their feet. Then Sarll decided to swap Conlon and Kennedy so Conlon was on the opposite side to Amos and their link up stopped. Yet more evidence that Sarll is a clueless prick as if it was needed.

I enjoyed how, just like Saturday, TVC and Franks looked awful playing out of position (not either of their faults and Fraser looked decent again when put into his actual position).

I enjoyed the number of times Godden was offside yet again.

I also enjoyed how yet again we played with no tempo at all, even when 1-0 down at home with five minutes left there wasn't a single player with any sense of urgency or desire to get back into it.

I enjoyed how, yet again, we had no movement off the ball at all. Just like every game. Giving the player in possession no options at all. The number of times Amos received the ball, showed a great first touch and turned only to discover he had not a single option to pass to so had to pass it back (hooray, our sole gameplan, but it adds to the possession and passing stats, which are oh so important) or attempt a ball which just wasn't going to work.

Most of all I enjoyed how we spent all game lumping the ball forward to our short strikers who didn't stand a chance against their solid and tall defenders, but at no stage during the whole 90 minutes did we bother trying something different. Again, as with every week.

Accrington and Luton will be fun.

It's been widely commented on but i would love to know what we work on in training as there was nothing resembling a gameplan out there tonight

We tried to play it out from the back and either invited pressure on ourselves because the passing was too slow, or we hit it long to our small strikers who got beaten every time. Or more often we just pumped it down a channel and hoped Godden would reach it. He never did because his starting positions were terrible, he looks nackered and the passes were shit. We now look completely blunt up front while still being weak - although slightly stronger than a few weeks ago - at the back. When we did play it to McKee the lack of movement was astonishing, almost every player hiding from the ball. Smith has been here for a long time now and i still don't know what he does.

Where is this free flowing football we were promised?! It's not hard - one of the only times we went forward we played three simple passes and got it out to Fraser who put in a good cross. On a different day someone would have been on the end of it. That's all it takes. But there was almost nothing whatsoever that suggested the players knew what they were doing, or wanted to do anything. Both are equally damning for Sarll. We got in their box maybe three or four times all game which at home or in any game really is inexcusable

I haven't heard Sarll's interview but if he really has blamed it on players being out of position then he should be sacked on the spot. TVC at left back, King at centre back while Fraser is in midfield...i could go on. As for the Jamie Gray comments........

I really wanted him to succeed here but it's time to call it a day and move on. It won't happen of course but i can't see him ever being able to turn it around to the degree we want, and more and more people are going to stop attending. I will still go whenever I can because I have nothing better to do, but i imagine many who went tonight will be put off for a few games. Maybe it will take our attendance dropping even further for Wallace to act, even then i doubt it.

As mentioned - the plusses were Amos looked promising and Conlon did his usual trick of looking better than most of our starting midfield

The buck stops at Sarllz. He must have been the one who told them to launch every ball forward in the small hope of getting it to Godden who was sandwiched in between two six foot defenders.
Clueless tactics.

Thought BW did okay as well to be fair, at least tried to play it out from the back. Lack of options when in possession is so poor.

Because nobody moves, they all just stand next to their marker.

It screams a side with no confidence, belief or desire. It screams a side not playing for themselves or their manager. It screams a side where every player knows no matter how they perform they'll be picked again next week as their is no competition for places and the manager refuses to change his line-up no matter what.

Reminiscent of the end of the Smith and Sheringham reigns. I don’t care what coaching qualifications you have, compare this side and that performance to what we had 12 months ago and there’s no comparison. We are firmly in reverse. Truly awaful, again.

Agree, he's bordering on being just as shit as them 2. No patterns of play, what do they do all week.

PW will stick with him. Not sure the fans will, I think he's lost them.

Plus side, we've got a striker over 6 foot in the squad now to lump it to instead of Godden.

Has Darren Sarll not learnt yet that in football you are actually allowed to get your team to pass the ball around on the floor instead of just hoofing it every time?
