Definately 100% off to Spurs according to people in the know*

You read it here first.

Only question really is whether it was for over or under the magic £1m mark a whether he gets loaned back for the remainder of the season.

I've spent far too much of this thread wondering why people thought Kenners was better than what Spurs have on their youth...

At what point does he stop becoming a good youth prospect with any real value to a club prepared to spend upwards of £100k, 21, played 100 games now and still no move.

George Boyd was better and showed much quicker progression.

On the plus side maybe Kenners can stay with us for the rest of his career.

Looking back at Boyd , Morrison , Bostwick and Hayles all of which were sold
None of the current prospects are better or in the same league

Before you spit out your dummy.....would you buy Morrison or Godden?

Wallace said on 3CR him and McKee can make the premier league and that Reading have had a record amount of tickets requested by scouts for tomorrow’s game with a scout from every premier league team being there. Phil also confirmed that the £850K is paper talk.

I'm sure Phil is busying himself running the auction.

The real positive from the sale, if it happens, is that because we've never really had him in the first team, (bar a few games) , we won't miss him. Far easier to stomach, emotionally and tactically, than losing say Godden or Kennedy.

This is a very good point. I'd be more 'upset' to lose Big Ben than Ben or Matt. He's been around for yonks. I saw his first goals and got excited about them. He's infectious to have around. Even last Thursday night he was sat with us and I happened to mention the drinks breaks and how angry old Hedgie gets about them.. Ben just said 'what drinks breaks.......?'

I spose I've broken my age old adage of 'don't get attached to footballers'.

I heard from a fairly good source at 2.30pm that this was a done deal, though nothing official yet from the club that I've seen. Somewhat at odds with Phil's statement last Friday that the club wanted to keep its talented youth such as Ben and Mark McKee! I suspect sufficient money is a great mind-changer...

Is there much we can do if a large offer comes in? I'd suspect the player will want to go knowing what Prem teams pay some players who don't even get near the first team and I don't blame them.

We have to be a selling club if we want to have the funds to compete at the upper end of this division and above.

Makes me wonder if his recent starts are to drive the price up.

Not complaining as he’s seemingly done pretty well but surely a young starter would be worth more than a young prospect on the fringes of the squad.

Interest shown in young prospect but no one has seen him in a proper competitive match.

January arrives.

Young player plays against Championship side when we have two experienced centre backs available. Then a league game.

Surely just a coincidence.

Makes you wonder who gives the order though. Does Sarll take it upon himself to make this clever and timely introduction or does it come from the board, in which case what other influences do the board have on the first team selection? 🤔

Zero, I have no doubt DS was going to play him, he knows talent when he see's it and we were shipping goals anyway so why not change it.

He gets moaned at for picking the same team every week even tho he doesn't, just the ones some don't think are very good.

I wholeheartedly concur. The decision to play 3 up front against Chesterfield was 100% Darren’s decision, even though it came 24 hours after the chairman grumbled (needlessly, I would add) that we weren’t playing fast and attractive football.
