Match Fred

By BaldockBoro (Balders)13/1 14:47Sat Jan 13 14:47:12 2018

One change, Gorman for the injured McKee.

Ronnie on 469

Kenners on 100 and 21 today.

Great* form recently

ALOOT is back....probably.

Proper feelgood factors abound...

What can possibly go wrong.

(*ok, home form isn't bad)

Gonna smash it today, corner properly turned. 3-0 away win.

T. King - 7 - happy with everything I've seen so far. One very good save. Commands everything else. Don't feel nervous with him between the sticks.

Henry - 6 - not his best game. Some poor passing and crosses.
J. King - 7 - solid
Wilmot - 7 - yeah he has a future. It feels like he's on loan from a Prem Club to get experience. Like Lascelles, but probably better.
Martin - 5 - poor deliveries

Kennedy - 5 - ran into defenders all game, except when he was trying impossible passes
Smith - 5 - one good cross
Gorman - 5 - standard Gorman
Pett - 5 - assist, but similar to Kennedy

Godden - 5 - should have scored that header
Newton - 5 - didn't have much of an impact on the game

Gray - 5 - should have scored his 1 on 1
Conlon - n/a - didn't notice him
Franks - 8 - just cos he scored a cracker

Really? I've got no reason to dislike him. I don't have a grudge or anything, I just don't see what he gives and comparing him to Gorman, Gorman was better which says a lot! Maybe I'm expecting too much.

I don't want to single out Smith but just to let you know where I'm coming from... He went into challenges half hearted and sometimes not at all. He was often not in the right place at the right time. His passing wassn't great and rarely forwards. He's not the worst we ever had or anything but I'm used to better.

Smith put two excellent crosses in , both could have been converted. He got booked early on for a clash of heads when he challenged for the ball. A lot of his passes were sideways, but the were straight to a team member which means we retained possetion , which is the golden rule of football at any level. Morecambe were there for the taking, but our forwards failed to capitalise.

On reflection, I think this was partly down to a rather harsh (I thought) booking he picked up early doors

Some were heralding him as signing of the summer a few months back.

Never seen much to make him stand out. By the same token though I've never seen anything from him to think "Oh not Smith." He's just there. Spends most of his time booked.

The booking didn't help him but he still put himself about breaking up play and keeping it simple.

Wilmot lost 95% of headers and was at fault for their goal, a 7 is generous. #controversial!

I haven't seen their goal again, thought it was due to two of our players losing the ball in front of us so everyone was out of position then it took a deflection right into Ellisons path whp couldnt miss. A team fuck up.

Forgot Smith had been booked so to be fair that would be why he was standing off a lot and not putting himself about at much.

I'd give Conlon 6 as he tried to pass forward, not side or back, and occasionally found a teammate.

Unlike Smith.

One cross. It was the best cross of the game but he didn't have much competition. And he didn't do his midfield job of tackling passing or getting near the ball.

As you know, I’ve been a vociferous critic. But I thought he’d started to come good the last couple of weeks. No doubt it’ll be sorted when Sarll offloads the dead beats and replaces them this transfer window.

We should've won, we dominated, missed two sitters, i'll take a point etc.. Godden missed a free header from a delightful Johnny Smith cross and Gray missed a 1 on 1 with about 10 minutes to go. Thank fuck Fraser of all people knows where the target is!

During the first half we had about 10 free kicks around the box but did nothing with them, so fustrating.

Could, should have won it five or six to nothing.

Their goal was only a result of midfield shithousery, trying to be too neat and precious.

I must have missed that. But since we spent a match struggling to keep up with flipping Morecambe, and took til the final minute to even draw level, I’d say even Sarll missed that particular memo too.
