I thought he was superb. I've been a big fan of Ben, I think he's a real talent and I was chuffed for him to play on Saturday.

MOTM today without questions. He and King really looked like the great centre back partnership this club has been missing and needs.

Against a Reading side who had no threat, couldn't pass to their own players and generally passed out of touch.

Smith didn't have a lot to do. Did some of the niggly stuff but nothing special. A good 7 like most of the rest of the team. The team worked very hard to pressure Reading and stop them playing out from the back (which totally confused them as they then didn't know what to do which appeared like they were timewasting).

Newton and Godden didn't really win their individual battles.

King and Wilmot were great. New keeper looks decent enough except a couple of bad kicks. McKee showed up all of our other midfielders this season yet again.

Pett dwelled on the ball too long. Kenners was ok. And Martin.

Thought Ronnie had a very good game.

So for the Motm stakes ... Wilmot McKee King Henry.

When they were warming up I thought to myself that No 17 Will Barrow looks fast, might be a handful. But in reality he offered fuck all. Wilmot had him in his pocket all game.

Haha I don't actually. I'd not even noticed the apparent terrible performances he had. Just see him as a 6 or 7 every game. Does a job but quite easily replaceable. (Unlike a solid CB or a 20 goal striker or good keeper)

These ratings seem about right. Seem to be in line with my thoughts above. I think Thora and Deano agree (based on their tweets). So you've got some of the smartest minds in the country in agreement... 😂

They certainly don't count as you've previously stated that drunk fans don't deserve to have any opinion on the game.

I'm pretty sure me, Toyn and Baldock were sober, or at least far more sober than them, ergo we're correct and Smith was very good.

Should think Stretch is pretty proud of him tonight. For a boy of 18 he played with a lot of maturity and good distribution..

5 youth grads in the squad today. Sarll clearing done something well in his previous role

I don’t think it’s that Sarll releases them. They are taken by bigger clubs. Chairman’s notes last week notes there was some real good talent in the youth that won’t make it to the 1st team squad and will go straight to bigger clubs.

Incorrect.

We/Sarll released him. He went to Biggleswade and then Villa signed him after he impressed against them in a PSF (plus trial).

Ok so I was wrong with Davis. My point being it’s that we don’t always release talent deemed not good enough for Boro only for them to go on to bigger things . Clubs scoutitger clubs youth as they do the seniors

Even with Chuds shouting about them, they aren't a big club.

Absolutely, been saying for a while now he’s been brilliant this season, his covering and last ditch tackles have saved us a few goals.
Wilmot was ok, showed great maturity for a young lad making his debut but like McKee let’s not got over board .
