The panel is PL appointed. The seperate appeals panel also, so independence is always troublesome as someone has to appoint it. Altho' I think they are senior KC or judges. The timeliness for hearing the appeal on the case, and passing judgement ahould be done this season I think (4½ months ish). But deciding the punishment and how that gets appealed no clue.

The bigger issue is all the clubs who lost out on titles and European spots in City's cheating seasons. All the players who missed bonuses. The lost sponsorship opportunities...

A CL spot is worth a minimum of £100m a season. If you finished fifth one place outside you might have a claim.

Precedent for knock-on impact has already been set with Everton having to pay Burnley £35m in damages because Burnley might have survived if Everton hadn't breached spending limits. (Damages being appealed currently).

This is gonna get very messy now and lawyers are gonna get very rich dragging out compensation claims.

Who'd have thought all that money sloshing around and all thise clubs owned by billionaires, hedge funds and private equity consortia would cause problems eh.
