I don't think Lewis or Sweeney quite cut it as long term replacements in Piergianni's mould.

That is exactly what Lewis Freestone IS.

Edit: And why are you mentioning Goode and Sweeney as long-term successors to Pidge? For starters he is a LCB and they are both RCB, and secondly they are both already in their 30s themselves!
