Ha! I asked Revs about exactly that in the 76 Lounge when he was appointed this time round. I said he had a reputation as a lovely guy and that he had clearly built a friendly relationship with the players whilst assistant manager, but what issues might that bring him now he needed to be ‘boss’ and - on occasion - deliver the hair-dryer treatment? He assured me that would not be a problem, he knew he had to alter his role and attitude with the players, and would do it without hesitation.
Looks like that’s working out well for him.
