None of those you mentioned were ever seriously going to make it and were clearly not good enough from day one, and only played because we were shit and had nobody good to play.
Doherty has looked good and hasn't looked out of place from the start. Sure he had to develop a bit in some respects, but has never let himself down or looked below the level, and that level is a hell of a lot higher than in previous times too, so puts him even further above the others who we tried to force through.
He is the first one I have truly believed could make it for us. Even Wilmot looked suspect a lot of the (few) times he played for us.
