Say we made tickets half the price they are, does anybody really think it would result in twice the attendance that we will be getting on Saturday anyway? Because I can almost guarantee that it wouldn't.
If the argument was that this is a chance to let fans attend cheaper than normal, almost as a thanks for the support in the league, and to give more backing to the team, that would be a different argument, but ultimately we are going to be struggling to compete in L1 every season so every pound of profit we make counts, and so I am not sure as a club we can be taking decisions on any basis other than maximising revenue, which is exactly what we have done here.
