What about all the players are connected to electrodes and every time they take too long on a throw in, free kick, or the keeper doesn't release the ball, they get an electric shock. No timewasting then

I agree with Sev though, the delays over throw ins and free kicks are worse from the pov of the spectator, as they can be painful to watch
