They ran all the way down London Rd. If you go to the foot of Ditchmore Lane - where the blue footbridge heads over to Tesco, through the Tesco car park exit, past the back of the leisure centre and ultimately towards B&Q, there were several houses spread down London Road. Many of the mature trees in the town centre were originally part of the back gardens of these large villas with the town centre built around them. The continuation of the London Rd houses still exist opposite the post office sorting centre.
