I have always said that staying up is an achievement for us, with what we are competing against.

Relegation, when it happens, will be crippling. We saw how long it took to bounce back last time. No reason to think it would be any quicker next time. With HUGE falls in crowd numbers. It would just feel like the end of the line. Back where we started (not quite, that really would be the true devastation), lose all momentum gained, all feel good feeling.

As I say above, L2 is just shit. Shit football, no excitement, it is such a meh league. Almost no games you look forward to, you just trudge along through the season, waiting for it to end. And that coming from somebody who has had a season ticket for what must be about 20 years now. For a floating fan, or neutrals, there is almost no appeal to entice them to attend. Even if we are poor or playing poorly/boring, people will attend when we play big teams. They won't when we play all the shit in L2.

Edit: I am fully aware that we are one of those shit clubs I describe that nobody is excited about playing, and we would fit in with them all in L2, but we don't play ourself.
