I think it's one or the other (Saxon and Phoenix). Revs has teased us with the WB system and has reverted to the back 4 while trying to replicate the benefits of 5 at the back. I think this confuses players regarding their defensive responsibilities. Maybe we adapt over time and make it work, but for now I feel like we are caught between 2 systems, not really sure how we want to play and have no identity.

I have no problem with playing Phoenix, and I understand the argument that he maybe isn't strong enough to play LWB but sometimes you have to just throw someone in at the deep end to learn. Meanwhile, we get him on the pitch and he will continue to get forward with Freestone behind him as cover. What is the downside? This also allows us to play 2 up top and drop Roberts. Win-win
