Today was the straw that broke my back after about 18 months of the same sort of performance.

I get the argument about him not suiting being a lone striker, and we absolutely could help him in that regard, BUT we are entirely based on working as a team and all grafting for the greater good. Too often he strolls around and doesn't graft for the team (not challenging/half-heartedly challenging for balls that basically land on his head and throwing himself to the floor pathetically for instance) which makes it harder for the rest of the team because we lose possession instantly and the ball just keeps coming back at them immediately, and too easily.

Magennis today showed what he should be doing. Hopefully having him around means Reid gets dropped. Even if not every game, it may act as the kick up the arse he needs that he isn't going to just be picked to start every week, regardless, which has been part of the problem last season.

Edit: And pretty much everybody I could hear on the away terrace today, in two totally separate areas of it, was all saying the same thing, was exasperated by his "performance", and there was a big cheer when he got substituted off (I suspect why he was then nowhere to be seen at FT). He has been a great servant for us, he still could be, but something needs to change in his attitude/approach, because it just isn't doing it right now.
