We looked so much better when Magennis came on and went two up top, even if one was Reid. Ironically we had our best spell just before they scored. And that came from Kemp trying to win a foul rather than get his head up and cross it.

As against Wycombe, Reid won nothing, didn't even attempt to win the ball half the time (same as Roberts) and just sat on the floor with his arms out half the time. And whenever he did touch the ball it would end up with one of their players.

Really felt like a hindrance than a help. We had zero outlet and no possession on the final third.

Then Magennis came on, competed for headers, occupied two defenders with his threat, freeing up space for others. Held up the ball and laid it off.

I accept we won't get a 20 goal a season striker but what we can expect is a player to hold up the ball and retain possession and compete for headers. Magennis does that.

Sanderson also looks like he will offer more than Reid and Roberts. Roberts just runs away from the ball when it's played long to him.

I'm done with them two. It'll be a long season if they're going to feature prominently.
