5) Stockport (A) - Confident 3-1 win against a good side which went against our declining form, in the middle of three games at Edgeley Park we didn't turn up for.

4) Blackpool (A) - When Houghton's error led to their opener I was all "FFS, that's that over with then, don't know why I bother". Went away with a deserved win from one of those grounds I expect to never get anything from. An immediate statement of intent like our opening day win at Tranmere in the Evans promotion season.

3) Port Vale (A) - 1-0 down and dog shit until the 88th minute, completely mental to go on and win it. Proved we didn't even need to be good to do it.

2) Bradford (A) - Classic Boro away performance, strong, committed and rustled the home fans incredibly. Ended up instrumental to the 6th place finish.

1) Wigan (H) - can only compare the moment the ref pointed to the centre circle to Campbell's goal at Villa, I felt my soul leaving my body. I said afterwards that the playoff place was the reward the players deserved and anything after that was a bonus, and sadly the universe took me at my word.
