The SA do subsidise the coaches.
The price is based on a full coach. £2k probably does cover the Plymouth coach hire cost, but only just. Any small profit will be used to help subsidise other trips.
I'd imagine the Luton trip for example made a small surplus.
If the coach is half empty it still goes and the SA does cover the difference. How often do the SA cancel or not run a coach? It's rare.
The 'surplus' at season end is largely 50/50 money i think. (And personally i'd rather they gave it to the Ladies team than to 'the club' as an entity)
