I don’t get this attitude. Going to the game is not just about the football on the pitch & the style in which it’s played!

It’s the whole experience. There’s nothing better than a floodlit game on a slightly cold evening, turning up early when the floodlights are already on, the sound of music from the tannoys, the smell of onions coming from the food stand.

I go to games on my own but I know I’ll see someone I know when I get in the ground. On the very rare occasion where I don’t, I end up chatting to other people in the stands anyway.

The result is a bonus if it goes our way & if it’s an exciting game, even better. I don’t expect the highest levels of skill but, as long as the players give everything, I can accept defeat.

Don’t abandon your local team when they desperately need support!
