Our defensive record has basically been identical for three years, regardless of personnel.

I like individual players in it, but the only real ever-present in that time has been Pidge (to a slightly lesser extent Luther), but as you say although he will still be that fantastic leader on and off the pitch, his performances are not as they were right now (I say this after he has been awarded MOTM in our last two matches, somehow). So I would like to keep each player within that unit, but none of them are irreplaceable and none of them should see us bend over backwards to keep. And it is pleasing to have Freestone, Marschall and Luther tied down (and Taylor to hopefully slot in nicely), as they are still young and can maintain their performances for years to come and provide consistent presence alongside other players within that unit.
