It seems everybody else has already given accurate assessments of the game, so not much for me to add, but a couple of quick points. Peterborough were much less than I was expecting - look just how many passes went off the side of the pitch! I gave up counting. They didn’t actually offer much in the way of threat and our keeper wasn’t really tested by them, whereas our spirited and forward-thinking attacks saw their keeper having to get involved every time, albeit with a frustrating lack of end product from us.

I was interested to check the bookie odds on Livescore before the game and see us at 91/100 and Peterborough at 13/5. Even a much-predicted draw was 5/2, so I wondered what the bookies knew that we didn’t. Most of us were predicting a dull and depressing evening before kickoff, yet our shortened odds turned out to be correct.

Sweens was superb even before his goal and Phillips and Pattenden continue to repay my supreme enthusiasm for both of them. Cornick looked like there were the makings of a really useful player in there too. Very pleasing. We were superb from the off tonight, and never stopped pressing until the final whistle. We looked like the old Boro again, scrapping for every ball and relentless throughout. Look what can be achieved when you take the brakes off and push forward! A thoroughly deserved win. And we go to a hurting Barnsley next - can’t wait!
