Given the strong start Boro made to this season, along with the fact Revell did enough last season to keep us in League One, thats probably why Wallace placed a great deal of trust and confidence in him to offer a 5 year contract. That level of belief would explain why Wallace saw Revell as the right long-term choice to take the club forward and rewarded him with a five-year contract.

Unfortunately, we’re now on a poor run of form and have been winless since the 3–1 away victory at Stockport. Even so, things could be far worse, we could be sitting in the bottom four, but thankfully we still find ourselves in the top half of the table.

The frustration among fans is completely understandable, but realistically it’s unlikely Wallace will suddenly lose faith in Revell after a short bad spell. He has invested in him for the long term and will almost certainly believe the manager can turn things around.

However, if this poor run were to drag on over a longer period, for example six to seven games, then it would be reasonable for the board to start questioning whether Revell is the right man to change the club’s direction.
