We’re not providing the service we were earlier on in the season. Think for whatever reason (tactical or psychological) the concept of protecting our position has crept in rather than the little bit more freedom we had at the start of the season. We’re definitely not hitting the wingers as much as we were or playing the slightly risky balls vertically through the lines.

Reid has always been an interesting one. For me, with all the good will in the world, he isn’t as good as large sections of our fans make out (fwiw I really like him as a player). His strengths when he is on are that he is quite an instinctive finisher but he’s also a confidence player. When he’s low on confidence he can play in a way that is detrimental to the overall, not passing, delaying his final ball/shot etc. None of which is helped when the opportunities to have a go aren’t presented to him.

I get the impression there’s a lot of pressure on the squad to deliver at the moment. This is a bit of a golden opportunity to have a go at promotion. If we have a good crack and don’t make it then so what, it’ll have been a great attempt. Something to build on. Fight is better than flight or freeze.

From my perspective there’s no pressure as long as everyone gives 100% every time they represent the club, I don’t think many can be accused of not doing that right now.
