The photo is looking Northwards, with Sish Lane and Letchmore Road at the top of the image, the ground is roughly where the Railway station/ police station are now, the one bridge over the railway line is chequers bridge road i believe, which now bends on the east side to go behind what was the Eagle building/ the new flats.

The large industrial side on the other side of the railway line to the ground is what was knocked down and the leisure park built there.
