Back Saturday

It's been quite nice having 2 weeks off, at least we haven't seen another loss in that time! Back to the action Saturday, 11 matches left, a chance to end the season strong and build a team for next season. As we saw this season, the start has saved our bacon really, 20 points out of 33 is probably the main reason why we're not totally in the shit, to take some good form into next season will be important. With a win Saturday, we're definitely staying up, it will be nice to relax and enjoy the last part of the season, rather than worry. In the next 5 matches we're playing 4 teams below us, a good chance to get some points in the bag.

The way I look at it, after this season players such as Ben Wilmot, Mark McKee etc will be more experienced and will have plenty of minutes in the bag, come next season we could have quite an experienced group of players. I would play as much of them as possible in the last 11 matches. Honestly, I just want to see some good performances from the players, too many times this season have we seen lacklustre performances, so to finish the season with some good football and results to show will be a positive going into next season.

Thoughts on Saturday?
I think will win Saturday, one thing I've been impressed with this season is the home form, 7 wins, 7 draws and only 3 defeats is pretty good. It's so important to have good home form as we've seen this season, to have 31 points out of 45 at home would be good after Saturday. But, as we've seen this season, every match is tricky so we'll need to play well.

I would imagine that week did wonders for some of the injured players, Matty and Ronnie will probably be back, I would start them on the bench and introduce them into the game. I thought Danny Newton played really well in the last home match, I honestly don't think he and Matty Godden play well together, so I'd look to start Danny instead.

My team:

Vancooten King Wilmot Martin
Amos Smith McKee
Goddard Newton Kenners

Prediction? Mainly because our home form has been generally very good this season I reckon we'll win Saturday, 2-1 win.
