Just a quick thread on the superb 3 points Saturday and thoughts.

A brilliant result, a brilliant performance, that's more like it fellas! Every player contributed, every player suited the roles in which they were playing, very impressive. I think what impressed me more than anything was the quality of football we played, the passing throughout was great to see after the tough 3 months we've had of not a great standard on show. The first goal was a great example of the quality we have within the group, finally was on show for a change.

Honestly, I thought the forward line looked better without Matty Godden, my reasoning is, Danny and Matty are very similar with the amount of work they do and sometimes as a centre forward, the player you're partnered with up top sometimes can tend to do the work that the other player wanted to do. The work I'm on about is, runs, playing off the shoulder, coming into play with the midfield, angles in the box. I don't think they can play together and I think that was quite clear on Saturday when we went forward. I would always play one of them and then bring one off the bench, whether that's Matty starting and Danny coming on, or the other way around.

The 3 in the middle IMO were superb. Luke Amos is a seriously talented youngster, the goal was a lovely strike, but I what I like about Luke, is his ability going forward with the ball. I thought McKee once again was top quality and Johnny Smith showed experience, great finish for the goal also.

One other thing, a cracking performance from TVC on Saturday. I thought he was solid at right back, showed good pace going forward and supporting Johnny Goddard, very impressed.

42 points is a comfortable accumulation to be sitting on, 15 point gap between us and the bottom two, in no doubt that we'll stay up. But, how many times have we said that's the turning point of the season and then we've lost the next 3 matches, it's all about being consistent now, 12 matches left, lets finish the season strong and get into the top half. Very much looking forward to the big one at Notts County Saturday.
