Who has said he's a great developer of youth? He's been told to play youth players and he is doing so, he used to be the youth manager so managed a majority of the youth players he is playing now in the senior side.

Pett isn't a product of our youth system and was over 20 when signed. He's at his level and as has been mentioned here TS and DS never got out of him what GW did. Kennedy too hasn't progressed. He can still get better but not to the standard people were claiming when he first came onto the scene. That's down to a combination of injuries and poor decision making IMO. Freeman for me is a prime example of becoming a much better player when his decision making improved, I wonder whether DS has it in his locker to beat that into a player like GW did with Freeman.

Gorman is Gorman, he's just there. No better or worse than when he first came into the first team. A squad player.

I wonder whether Wilmot playing is to put him in the shop window and as he is playing we aren't risking TVC at CB with him due to there then being a lack of experience there. I see TVC being here longer than Wilmot if Wilmot is indeed as good as he is being made out to be.

One positive is that we are blooding young players and that will be a selling point to youngsters/their parents when they are being offered contracts by professional clubs. We face competition from plenty of big clubs to sign young players (all the London clubs, Watford, Luton etc.) but if we can show these players and their families that they will stand a better chance of playing first team football here than at those clubs it is a big selling point.
