That's why I'm asking the question. I can't criticise without knowing the reasons why.

I'm not saying Day is the saviour. Might make f all difference.

But it is a question I'd like to know the answer. The answers I could come up with are:

1. I believe Fryer is better
2. Day is too old and his body won't allow him to play a season.
3. Day wants to focus on coaching
4. We need to replace Day eventually and we have an option to sign Fryer permanently (because obviously plain a loan player doesn't solve the problem of not having a successor to Day)
5. I don't consider the GK position to be a significant one and they're all much the same.
6. Chris has appearance fees we can't afford.x

Basically there could be loads of reasons, like with all the other questions.

Why didn't Newton feature today? Probably a perfectly reasonable explanation.

I think because of our form everything the manager does is now being questioned. So you either answer those questions with honesty or you ignore them and let people speculate and usually come up with the answer that makes the manager look the worst.
