I think what also happened is some may have realised *cough* Wallace, which others knew all along, *cough* Hollis, that even when we were flying high in League One attendances weren't all that high and if we ever get to the Championship we'll still only average about 3,000 home fans. There just isn't the appetite for it in the town. And so we've reassessed our ambitions to be sustainable.

Maybe that's all bollocks but it feels like that.

I feel we are a club now who is happy to remain in League 2. Not a club who sees itself in the Championship in 5 years like Luton or even Lincoln could feasibly hope for.

Is that a bad thing? Not if compared to being a conference club for two decades. But if compared to that dream we once had maybe that's why people are losing interest.
