Let me be transparent. I have supported the club since 2001. Distance from where I now live makes it impossible for me to get to games, but I would go as and when if I saw something in the club to want to match progressive values we once showcased.

Regardless of finances and size, there is a romance to football that dictates no matter how small you can compete and show ambition to be better; to aim for something attainable even if it is largely unrealistic.

What has changed from those days when we were pitching ourselves to be a small, under-weight Championship contender? I don't see how financially anything horrific has happened that makes that less likely now than it was in previous years. It just feels like now we are a 'we should be thankful to be in League 2 and our aim is bumble along season after season'.
